Microblading is a semi-permanent form of cosmetic tattooing. It is performed manually with a handheld tool with needles that are fused together in a linear grouping. This technique is used to create the look of hair strokes by implanting pigment two to three layers beneath the skin. Microblading can help to add density to existing eyebrow hair or create a natural-looking set of eyebrows for those who experience partial or complete hair loss. The eyebrow color, shape and texture is customized to each client for the most realistic results.
Microblading heals best on normal to dry skin types. Microblading may not work well on clients with more oily skin types or over scars, previously tattooed or lasered skin. On those with oily skin types and larger pores, results may appear softer and more powdery. Individuals prone to keloids, very thin skin, rosacea or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation would not be ideal candidates for this type of treatment.
This method of cosmetic tattooing is designed to blend with your natural brow hair. The more hair you have, the more realistic results will appear. If you have very little or sparse eyebrow hair, results will appear more 2D, and it is possible that you may need more than two sessions to achieve your desired result.
While permanent makeup is great for most people, some individuals are not suitable for these treatments. Please read the following permanent makeup contraindications carefully, to evaluate if you are an eligible candidate, as they apply to microblading:
Ineligible Without Exception
Epinephrine is used in numbing agents that can increase your heart rate causing potential dysrhythmias.
Accutane alters the skin and makes it thin, dry, and sensitive. It also weakens your immune system. For those reasons you'll need to wait one year after your Accutane treatment is completed and your skin is back to its normal state.

Eligible With a Signed Doctor Clearance Note
Brows can fade faster with certain thyroid medications.
Your blood pressure has to be at a stable condition. You may have slightly greater bleeding than the norm. Excessive bleeding during the procedure can dilute and expel the pigment color and lead to poor results.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Eligible Based on Individual Cases
*Individuals with a pre-existing eyebrow tattoo or permanent makeup
If you have ever had a semi-permanent or permanent makeup procedure, we request that you email us clear photos of your brows for approval to unveiledbeautyinfo@gmail.com. After sending your photos, please give us 1-3 business days to get back to you.
*Individuals who are allergic to lidocaine or epinephrine
The most used anesthetic is lidocaine and epinephrine. If you are allergic to it, we will not be able to use it during the procedure; however, you will still have an option to proceed but without a numbing agent to reduce the pain.
*Iron Deficiency
If you suffer from Anemia or low iron this could affect the way your body reacts to the pigment. The pigment used contains iron oxides which can result in the hair strokes to fade or change in hue due to your body absorbing the iron.
*Individuals with oily skin
Those with very oily skin are ineligible for microblading. Powder brows are recommended for this skin type. Those with less oily or combination skin, may consider a combination of microblading and powder effect, known as combo brows. (Unveiled Beauty Studio is only offering microblading at this time.)
*Individuals with sun damaged skin
*Individuals that have any uncertainty regarding their pre-existing conditions, or are under the supervision of a physician, please consult with your doctor before booking an appointment and provide us with a doctor's note.
Microblading requires a minimum of two sessions. Touch-ups are normal and expected for cosmetic tattoo procedures. Re-evaluation of healing and pigment retention will be performed at your second session. If your cosmetic tattoo does not heal perfectly after the first session, adjustments can be made at the next appointment. Your second session can be booked no sooner than 6-8 weeks after the initial appointment. Additional sessions will be charged according to the current pricing.
Microblading will fade over time and may need to be refreshed every 12-18 months. Frequency of sessions depends on a number of factors including: the pigment color used, lifestyle and if any chemical peels come into contact with treated areas. Oily skin may not hold onto the pigment as well. For the best result, it is recommended that you follow aftercare instructions and touch-up your tattoo as recommended/as needed. Please note that final results CANNOT be guaranteed as each skin type will retain pigments differently and break down at different rates.
*If you have been on prescription Accutane in the past, you MUST wait at least one year before considering this procedure.

Following your procedure, your tattoo will appear much darker, bolder and warmer in color than it will heal. This can last up to a week after the treatment while the initial healing process takes place. You may experience some redness or swelling. The treated area may feel a bit like sunburn afterwards, but there should be minimal discomfort.
Within a few days, (typically 5-10) you may notice some scabbing or flaking on the treated area, do not pick at your brows as doing so can result in loss of pigment in those areas. Brows may appear spotty or patchy until the entire brow has finished healing. You may notice that some areas may appear very light or even to have lost pigment entirely after they have peeled. Your skin will be thicker causing muting, hiding or diffusing of pigment underneath. The skin will normalize over the next 4-6 weeks and softened pigment will resurface.
Day 1: Brows are dark, bold and beautiful. Thet may be tender or slightly inflamed depending on the sensitivity of your skin.
Day 2-4: Brows may feel too dark.
Day 5-7: Brows may scab or peel and feel like they are falling off. Not everyone experiences this phase but, unfortunately, it is very common.
Day 8-12: Brows might feel too light or like they have disappeared.
Day 12-28: Brows are coming back and softer in color. Expect your brows to have lighter areas or feel patchy after the initial microblading appointment. Any areas that do not retain pigment as well will be addressed at your touch up.
Once healed:
Exposure to the sun over time can cause fading and discoloration of the pigment. Once completely healed, you may apply sunscreen on the treated area. Rinse and dry the area thoroughly when in contact with chlorine.
Glycolic acid, microdermabrasion, and chemical face peel products must be kept away from the tattooed area as continued use could lighten the pigment. If you are having laser resurfacing or laser hair removal after your tattoo has healed, please inform your technician. Continue at your own discretion. Laser procedures may darken, lighten, or discolor the tattooed area.
Once the treated area is completely healed, any changes or additions that need to be made can be done at your follow-up appointment no sooner than 6-8 weeks later.
Note: If you are to have an MRI after the procedure, you must tell the radiologist that you have iron oxide permanent makeup. While slight swelling and redness is common, any unusual stinging, swelling or colored discharge occurs, apply a cold compress to soothe and seek medical advice. Please notify Unveiled Beauty Studio of any adverse reactions.
