Brow Lamination FAQ

Brow lamination involves the straightening and lifting of brow hairs using a solution, which allows the hairs to have more flexibility to move them into your desired shape. This treatment gives your brows a fuller, more even look. Tint can be added to the treatment to enhance the color of your newly laminated brows.
While brow lamination is great for most people, some individuals are not suitable for these treatments. Please read the following contraindications carefully, to evaluate if you are an eligible candidate, as they apply to brow lamination/tint:
Contraindications include, but are not limited to the following:
- Allergy reaction to the patch test
- Sunburn
- Psoriasis/Eczema
- Skin Disorders, Skin Trauma, Cuts, Abrasions, Burns, and Swelling in the immediate area.
- Eye Infections (Impetigo, Conjunctivitis)
- Eye Inflammation
- Recent surgeries around the eyes, head, or face.
- Scar Tissue
- Hypersensitive Skin/Eyes
- Cancer or those undergoing Chemotherapy /Radiation
- Alopecia (Loss of hair)
- Trichotillomania (pulling of hair, brows, lashes)
- Any disease/disorder that causes shaking twitching or erratic movements.
- Recent permanent make up (must be healed by 6 weeks)
Requires a Doctor's Clearance/Note:
- Pregnant/Breast-Feeding
- Blood thinning medications/blood conditions
- Recent Eye Surgery or Eyelift
- Glaucoma
- Post Chemotherapy/Radiation
- Vitamins/Hormones

Brow Lamination with or without tint can last anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks. After the 4 to 8 week period, it’s recommended that you get your brows re-laminated in order to maintain the look over a longer period of time.
- Please review Brow Lamination/Tint Eligibility before booking an appointment.
- Shower before your appointment. You cannot get your brows wet for at least 24 hours after your treatment.
- Please come to your appointment without any makeup on the brow area.
- Avoid tweezing or waxing at least 48 hours prior to your appointment.
- Avoid using exfoliants, Retinol, Hydrocortisone products, Vitamin A, AHA, BHA etc. on your face for 1 to 2 weeks before your brow lamination.
- No self-tanning products should be used on the face for one week prior to treatment.
- Any recent permanent make up must be healed by at least 6-8 weeks.
- Keep brows dry for at least 24 hours.
- Do not apply make-up, heavy creams, makeup remover or undertake further eye treatments for at least 24 hours after your treatment.
- Avoid swimming/sauna/working out for at least 24 hours. Any excess moisture after this time can cause a slight curl/frizz to the brow hair. Use of steam/saunas is possible after, but may weaken the effect of your brow lamination.
- Do not allow prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or heat.
- Do not apply Retin-A, AHA or exfoliants around the brow area for 72 hours either side of the treatment.
- No self-tanning products should be used on the face for 48 hours after treatment.
- In the morning your laminated brows will require styling by brushing and setting in place.
- Don’t sleep directly on your brows.
NOTE: If any stinging or swelling occurs, apply a cold compress to soothe and seek medical advice. Please notify Unveiled Beauty Studio of any adverse reactions.
