Lash Lift FAQ

Lash lifts involve the lifting and curling of your natural lashes using a solution, which gives the appearance of longer, thicker, darker lashes and offers much less maintenance than eyelash extensions. Tint can be added to the treatment to enhance the color of your newly lifted lashes.
While lash lifts are great for most people, some individuals are not suitable for these treatments. Please read the following contraindications carefully, to evaluate if you are an eligible candidate, as they apply to lash lifts/tint:
Contraindications include, but are not limited to the following:
- Allergy reaction to the patch test
- Cataracts
- Cysts
- Diabetic Retinopathy
- Glaucoma
- Herpes Simplex/Ocular Herpes
- Blepharitis
- Styes
- Skin Disorders, Skin Trauma, Cuts, Abrasions, Burns, and Swelling in the immediate area.
- Eye Infections (Impetigo, Conjunctivitis)
- Eye Inflammation
- Recent surgeries around the eyes, head, or face.
- Scar Tissue
- Dry or Watery Eyes
- Hypersensitive Skin/Eyes
- Keratitis (Inflammation of the cornea of the eye)
- Cancer or those undergoing Chemotherapy
- Alopecia (Loss of hair)
- Trichotillomania (pulling of hair, brows, lashes)
- Bells Palsy or any condition that makes closing or opening the eye(s) difficult.
- Any disease/disorder that causes shaking twitching or erratic movements.
- Recent permanent make up (must be healed by 6 weeks)
Requires a Doctor's Clearance/Note:
- Pregnant/Breast-Feeding
- Recent Lasik/Eye or Eyelift Surgery
- Dry Eye Syndrome
- Glaucoma
- Post Chemotherapy/Radiation
- Vitamins/Hormones
*Individuals that have any uncertainty regarding their pre-existing conditions, or are under the supervision of a physician, please consult with your doctor before booking an appointment and provide us with a doctor's note.
Lash Lifts with or without tint can last anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks. After the 4 to 8 week period, it’s recommended that you get your lashes lifted again in order to maintain the look over a longer period of time.
- Please review Lash Lift/Tint Eligibility before booking an appointment.
- Stop using waterproof mascara 48 hours before your procedure since it leaves behind unwanted residue.
- Please remove contact lenses prior to your appointment.
- Please come to your appointment without any makeup on or around the eye area.
- Any recent permanent make up must be healed by at least 6-8 weeks.
- Keep lashes dry for at least 24 hours.
- Do not rub your eyes.
- Allow 24 hours before applying any type of product to your lashes. After 24 hours, you may apply regular mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadow, or any type of makeup products. If you use a lash serum, it can be applied to your lash line. Avoid oil based makeup or remover products. NO WATERPROOF MASCARAS.
- Do not undertake further eye treatments for at least 24 hours after your treatment.
- Avoid swimming/sauna/working out for at least 24 hours. Any excess moisture after this time can cause a slight curl/frizz to the lash hair. Use of steam/saunas is possible after, but may weaken the effect of your lash lift.
- Do not allow prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or heat.
- Avoid sleeping on your lashes.
- Be gentle with your lashes and brush/groom daily.
NOTE: If any stinging or swelling occurs, apply a cold compress to soothe and seek medical advice. Please notify Unveiled Beauty Studio of any adverse reactions.
